Delta Boogie RadioDelta Boogie Radio runs on a php version of KGPL that doesn't require a database. This version is good to use if you want to host the files and control the encoding for everything on your station.
Delta Boogie Radio runs dialup and HiFi stations. The dialup version serves vbr mp3 files encoded at 16 kbps. This will ramp up to 32 as needed and delivers a good quality sound over a dialup line without stuttering or having problems buffering. The HiFi station runs 192kbps vbr mp3s for CD quality sound.
Both versions of KGPL, python and php are GPL. This is the Python version that runs on the Google App Engine.
This version will have a station feature where you can use KGPL software to program your own station. Then you will be able to play your station from widgets.
I have also thought about running a Grateful Dead station or a Dylan cover station.
